Pain removal ritual

Powwow has a number of methods for relieving pain. What follows is a very simple ritual that you can do for either yourself or another person/animal. Remember that all that works in Powwow for humans also works for animals, and vice versa.

For this ritual, you will need three sticks. The type of wood does not matter. You can find them easily on the ground, especially after a wind storm! We have a birch tree on our property that is constantly dropping branches, so I always have some on hand in case I need them. Also, you will need a place to dispose of the branches after you use them. I recommend a place in the woods where people seldom travel.

Take the first branch and gently touch it to the area of hurt and say: "With this switch, and Christ's dear blood, I banish your pain and do you good."

Set the branch down. Pick up the second branch and repeat the words. Then set it down and pick up the third branch and repeat the words.

Then with your hand, make three crosses over the painful area while saying: "In the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost."

You will then break all three branches in half and dispose of them as we discussed earlier.

There are a few variations of this ritual, but this is the most simple and requires the least amount of "tools". And, it works.

God bless you and your family!
