The Full Moon

Posted by Rob Phoenix on

In Pennsylvania Dutch culture, the Full Moon is an important lunar phase for agricultural and weather prediction. It is also a time for Powwow for various maladies, such as the removal of warts or the destruction of hexerei.

The Full Moon occurs 14 days into the lunar cycle. It is when the Moon is directly opposite the Sun and reflects fully the Sun's light. As such, we should look to both the sign the Sun is in and the sign the Moon is in to work out which Powwow work is most effective at this time.

Today, Sunday February 5, 2023, the Full Moon is in the sign of Leo. The sign that the Sun is in is Aquarius.

Leo rules the heart while Aquarius rules the shins and lower parts of the legs. This means we should pay extra attention to both bodily concerns.

For planting purposes, Leo is a Fire sign and Aquarius is an Air sign. That means plants that do well in full sun with little water tend to do well planted under these conditions. However, since we are in the dark of winter, that becomes a moot point for us. But it's important information to know as it can help you evaluate future sun/moon sign combinations.

Powwow is very much a tradition of astrology. Please pay extra attention to both Sun and Moon signs and how they interact with one another.

God bless you all in all that you do!
